Joe is a researcher with a variety of interests, including theoretical cryptography, compilers and programming language design, and machine learning. He completed his undergraduate studies in computer science, with a focus on software verification, then attended Stanford University for a Ph.D. in cryptography and security, advised by Dan Boneh and John Mitchell. Joe is always driven by finding elegant solutions to challenging problems, both of which occur in abundance at Protocol Labs.
